When we think about Jesus coming to Earth, we don't usually spend a lot of time thinking about the huge change it was in the lives of two people: Mary and Joseph. In Matthew 18, the disciples are having another disagreement over the kind of question they should not be worried about anyway: who will be the greatest? We might have many answers for a question like that, but Jesus took the opportunity to have them consider becoming more like children. What childlike qualities do you wish you could regain?

As disciples of Jesus, we are called to live in a way that is distinctive in our culture. In Matthew 5, Jesus encourages his disciples to be salt and light to the world around us. Do people see us as that city on a hill?
